Before your visit
The atmosphere was wonderful.
Even though it was busy (we arrived around midday), my boyfriend and I were looked after right away.
There was plenty of choice, too.
She dressed me beautifully in my kimono, and the hairstylist did a wonderful job.
We were very happy.
I found this salon on Xiaohongshu (RED).
Some of the staff speak Chinese, which was very convenient.
The hairstylist and the staff member who dressed me were both Japanese, and they talked everything through with me very carefully.
It was lovely!
The staff were kind and the kimono were beautifully made.
The two women who did my hair and dressing were true professionals, very quick and well organized.
Great location too, about 7 minutes along the way from the station to Kiyomizu-dera Temple.
We came back down via Ninenzaka (route 1), which was almost entirely flat with no real hills.
I would strongly recommend them.
(Do wear your own shoes if you plan to walk up the slopes.) Really recommended!

Check before you visit
Allow about 60 minutes in total for choosing your kimono, dressing and hair styling before you set off.
※Times vary depending on how busy we are on the day and how long you spend choosing your kimono. If you have plans afterwards, such as a meal or temple visits, please allow plenty of time.
Zori sandals, a kinchaku bag, all the accessories needed for dressing and hair accessories are included in the plan.
※While you are out, we also store your clothes, everyday bags and larger luggage such as travel suitcases at the shop free of charge, so you can set off with nothing to carry.
As well as Japanese, we always have staff on hand who speak Chinese and English.
※Even when you visit with friends or family from overseas, they can easily tell us which kimono they like and how they would like their hair. Everyone can relax and enjoy the experience.

and about a 15-minute walk from Kiyomizu-Gojo Station (Keihan Line).
We are in Room 105 of Chateau Kiyomizu, close to the approach to Kiyomizu-dera Temple (Matsubara-dori).
